A law was passed that prohibited white people from buying anything from an enslaved person without permission of the enslaved person’s owner.

A law was passed that if an African or African American enslaved person struck a white person, he or she would be punished by whipping.

“Negro servant” and “molatto servant” are the terms used for enslaved African or African American people at this time.
